Ipod Shuffle Theme

Thank you to a Free Dance Recital Ideas reader who suggested an Ipod Shuffle theme! An Ipod Shuffle theme is a great idea, because you can use any songs that you want to.

Each scene of your recital could be "a playlist." Arrange your playlists by different genres of music, such as rock, pop, ballads, rap, country, showtunes, and easy listening. Download a list of the most popular music for the current year or last year, and pick and choose your favorites. If you get stumped on music for your smaller dancers, search on iTunes for children's versions of the popular songs, such as Kids Bop. Current music from children's movies and TV programs can also be used.

For the opening number of the show, try dancing to Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna and have dancers use iPods for props. Make the cover of the programs to look like an ipod and print them in different bright colors in which iPods are made.

If I were picking popular songs of 2008-2009 to choreograph to for an Ipod theme recital, I would instantly think of Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce and Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Please write a comment and tell me what popular songs you would suggest for an iPod Shuffle theme!!
